The Salacious Thread
The esteemable Mrs. Sullivan has raised the concern that, should we take the tack on the main image thread of allowing ourselves to utter what we consider harmless flirtation we may inadvertantly overstep the bounds of propriety.
She has suggested there be a place for us to post when we perhaps don't mind being oggled through goggles quite so much, so this is it.
I fear I lack a ready image to present you with, for which I am sorry.
No doubt somebody shall soon make up for my lack.
Chaps and Chapettes, have at eachother!

Re: The Salacious Thread
The response to my image in the other photography thread was decidedly positive
For instance;
So I'll post one or two more photos of myself in the same oufits here which were not in the previous thread
All the rest in this mad scientist gear are pretty mad
ARR! S'time to go a-raiding!
And lastly here's this one again because it's my favorite

Re: The Salacious Thread
Thanks for getting us kicked off, Joe. You really do have phenomenal taste in shirts.
Re: The Salacious Thread
Many thanks I live in those two shirts I wish I could get my hands on some more, the shop I got them from is under new management and no longer sells shirts this awesome However this does not deter me, I will hunt some more down, perhaps get them for mid-winter celebrations though as I'm rather low on currencyProf. George of Chaos wrote:Thanks for getting us kicked off, Joe. Those eyes... Those beautiful, piercing eyes! And that dress...! By the gods, I wasn't aware that we were graced with the presence of an angel!
Oh, by the by, it occurs to me that, should I desire not to be rude, I should post a photograph of myself, let the community see me as I am, and comment thereupon. Thusly, receive you me:

Re: The Salacious Thread
I must concur Honeythorn, you do have the most wonderfull and beautiful eyes! Absolutely stunning.
At some point I may post a picture of myself, though I generally make it a rule never to provide any form of personal information on the internet (rule No. 2 - never mention the locations of secret underground labs for world domination project...).
I will have to see if I can come up with a photo I'm happy to post on the internet - maybe when I get my goggles project finished.

Re: The Salacious Thread
Miss Honeythorn once again I must agree with Mr SS but for a variety of reasons my image too will never intentionally appear in an identifiable manner on the WWW.
Please don't be offended.

Re: The Salacious Thread
I shall add my name to the petition on your eyes, Miss Honeythorn. The rest of you too, but most importantly eyes.
Well I'm just back from a masked ball/dnb night in my freshers' week, at which I won 'sexiest mask'. This only makes me fascinated as to the mind of the judge, seeing as I scared the living hell out of everyone else.

I concurr on the collected oppinions of your eyes, Miss Honeythorn. In the top photo you wear an extremely striking expression.
I aso think well of your mask, Zepherius. Did you do the painting/inkwork?

Yes, It's actually a bandanna I modified for the night, it's amazing how much fabric is actually in those.

Slight element of "topic drift" but would you're tag/signature line refer to a certain series of books by Iain M. Banks perchance?

Re: The Salacious Thread
My first picture post in the steam punk world, be it SG or BG. This is essentially the base of my costume. I plan on eventually making this for the captain aspect of myself, and a bustled dress with cutaway front (revealing an underdress) that I cannot remember the name of right now. The coat I'm wearing in the first picture was made to go with the captain's outfit. Also, apologies for the size of the pictures. My photo editing program is having fits at the moment.
Made of upholstery fabric, if you can believe it, yet very comfortable. Haven't yet finished the buttons, as you can tell. They're the type I can't sew on using my machine, so it's very slow going, especially with 14 more to go.
Corset, vest, skirt, butterfly collar shirt, and boots. It wants a tie, I believe, but I was unable to find one quickly.
In color!
Since closeups seem to be such the rage...
And another. I took this photo upside down. I'm not sure if the dizziness was worth the result.

Re: The Salacious Thread
Ms Wilson! You have the sort of face that makes me swoon a little, so if this post is less eloquent than it might be (or overly so, by way of an automatic attempt to compensate) I do appologize in advance.
I've absolutely got to commend your taste in clothing (and ability! A trenchie from scratch? Very swish). That Basque is going to go over rather strikingly, I fancy.
I adore how corsets look when paired with waistcoats*, and I declare that the close in photographs particularly are risks to the viewers' grinning muscles.
Hi! I'm Georgie, by the way. I don't believe we've met before.
*If anybody is combining the two I would be everso pleased to be told about it.

Re: The Salacious Thread
Cheers, Professor, I'm flattered. And, how do you do? I concur that we've never encountered each other on these forums formally, though I have seen you around quite a bit. As to combining waist coats with corsets, are you familiar with the bodices of the Renaissance?

Ms Honeythorn, all I can say is Wow! There is just something about your eyes in that picture......almost feline in appearance. Very nice.
would the steampunk version of "flicks my switch" be something like "superheats my boiler"? ("opens my steam valve" just sounds wrong... in so many ways!)
Ms Wilson, you are quite the looker too, if you don't mind me saying. I love your outfit, the corset works wonderfully with your figure.

Re: The Salacious Thread
damnit, you just had to do that, didn't you? I suppose it's all right, since you've been a few weeks without satorial compliments paid, but don't go scaring the other lasses off, y'hear?

Re: The Salacious Thread
Bodices, you say? I'm afraid I'm not, though I know just where I can get an education.
Really what I'm thinking about is more like if the set you're wearing was one garment, and done up in midnight blue velvet, but bodice-research can't be a bad starting point. Thank you.
Since this is a thread on outfits and therefore loosely related, what do you think of the idea that much of daily life is on some level play-acting, and that it's possible to be very consious about what we are performing and so turn our very social existence into a form of art?*
----
Nice boots, Katarina, hoorah for extraneous hardware!
*Um. If your interests even lie in that direction, that is. I think it's fairly obvious by this point that I'm mostly seeking a mutual point of fascination.
