Divorce Party
so, as some of you may know from the how was your day thread, i just discovered my husband has not only been lieing to me about very important matters for almost 3 years, hes been cheating on me for 6 months and he has moved in with said .....ahem....person....when he said he was moving out to help him work on us.... wow im a dolt...i actually believed his lazy jobless lay about idiotic ass... sorry... ahem...
that said! i have decided to throw my self a newly single/divorce party! (you know what really sucks this women was a friend of mine and she frequents the neo-victorian night in AR) ive newly lost 65lb (funny the new chick is over weight and he began to wander just as the weight loss became physically apparent) sooo....im single...thin...attractive...and now baggage free...
so does anyone have any ideas for how to throw this party and what to do at it?

Re: Divorce Party
Hey miss boo, sorry to hear you have been messed around - at least he is out of your way now. Congrats on the weight loss too, I'm sure you look great and you sound like you feel more confident about yourself too.
As for a party, don't invite all your single girl friends! Just, have a party - be determined to have a good time, you deserve it.
Love and best wishes,
ffitz

Oh, sorry (or it congrats) Ms. Boo.
I hope that ban on all Arkansas Steampunks is restricted to the ones on the western side of the state. Those of us in the eastern side still love ya!

Re: Divorce Party
I am so sorry to hear things didn't work out as you may have hoped.
HOWEVER... congrats on gaining your freedom!
It sounds to me like he was keeping you dangling in case things didn't work out too well - "try before you buy" if you will... You're much better off without him if that's the type of person he is. Every human has an ass hole, and one is enough - you don't need a second!
As for the party... who cares what you do, just as long as you have a great time doing it.

Re: Divorce Party
Hmm, what would a neo-Victorian strip-o-gram be like? A muscle-bound circus strong man with a handlebar moustache who arrives in top hat and tails before removing them to the tunes played on a wax-cylinder, down to his red-and-white striped combinations? There's an image for you...
I've little to add that hasn't already been said... you're better off without this @#~&er, so enjoy yourself a while, but look after yourself too. (and try not to tar everybody in the AR NV scene with the same brush)
When I first read about your situation, this sprang to mind:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttuA1UEUAI0
In the meantime, start taking bets on how long it'll be before he tried exactly the same thing with this new woman!

Re: Divorce Party
most certainly, those who are not friends with Lady Stacy Marek are welcome to come too the party. though i will never go too the neo-vic night ever again. they go every month and im sure murder would be frowned upon...though it would certainly be fun..... naaaah im too young to go to jail!
at any rate... im considering making this an all out event. inviting folks from all over the country via here and brassgoggles... think i could make it happen?

Luv, I'd be there like a shot if it wasn't for this flippin' puddle in the middle! As soon as the Teleportation device is perfected, we're there.
(NB the Spellcheck doesn't recognise the word "teleportation". Bah! But then, it doesn't recognise "spellcheck" either, so no conclusions may be drawn.)

Re: Divorce Party
Damn, lost my previous post...
I was sugesting to murder the rival, castrate the husband and enjoy debaucherie in style while waiting for the cops...
Or... put everything related in a box (not a coffin) and get over it...

How are you enjoying your new-found freedom, Ms Dreadful? You seem to have the right attitude, you have your youth & your looks, your brains and a multitude of support. You have everything you need to build yourself something you can be proud of out of your life.

Re: Divorce Party
so since bg is down i found this ol' post and figured id give an update. im currently working a fantastic job making rather good money. ive got enough to pay all my bills and then some. im seeing a fantastic guy who actually treats me well. we've been together for 5 months now. and i have my own lovely apartment right across the street from a nice park and litterally 45 seconds from my job.
believe it or not i met this lovely Gent at my divorce party. when i expressed i had no intentions to date anyone he kissed my hand and said "well, when your heart has healed, i hope you consider me." eventually we ended up dating. and this is the first healthy relationship ive ever been in. and he even knew what steampunk was before i told him!!

Re: Divorce Party
Miss Boo
I am sure it was just a keyboard error, but I have to admit I did get a chuckle when you dropped the 'f' from 'life'. "...(t)o live a lie worth living" is probably not any sort of Freudian slip at all - you know, where you say one thing and mean your mother.
Cheers!
Chas.

Re: Divorce Party
i feel like i glow when im with him. its the first relationship ive ever been in that felt real, or substantial. like we arent just people in lust or some thing but two people ready to be a family. discovered today (after meeting my future in laws) that i might be receiving a "gift" soon made of gold and a family heirloom
