'Vile Bodies' Dirigible Party Empty 'Vile Bodies' Dirigible Party

Post  Hester Fri Oct 03, 2008 8:25 pm

Well, bugger me, it was tricky finding you lot again!

I go away for a few weeks to the Northern Beach Shack, and when I return, you've all de-camped with nary a farewell note!

But never mind, I've retrieved the Vile Bodies airship from the top of a giant White Pine tree (where you lot left it adrift!) and the crew is firing up the engines as I speak, in preparation for a new party cruise:

'Vile Bodies' Dirigible Party Whitecruiser-mod

And Mr. Cook, our butler, is mixing up pitchers of Pimm's:

... while Mrs. Butler, our cook, prepares the cucumber sandwiches:

The steward is winding up the gramaphone:

Now, let's get this party off the ground!

Hello, Hester! Good to see you again - and I'm afraid there's been a dearth of Pimm's around here!
I hope you don't mind if I've brought a guest...

Amazing! Wheresoever Hester is, there so shall be Pimm's. That's a character trait I admire in a person. Count me in, I've got my party bloomers on.

I have a box full of Starfruits on my desk, if you fancy those.

Being in Florida, I probably could find some sort of citrus if I tried hard enough. Smile

And I've actually been able to track down FIZZY lemonade at the local supermarket, and I've developed quite a liking for it as the mixer.

I've found President's Choice fizzy lemonade up here in the 905; are you using that, or did you find an actual name brand?

Ah, a party, top-notch! But, may I ask, how in the AEther did you get the lemonade to release a gas? I shall take it for examination as soon as my dancing boots are worn through. Who will join me on the floor?

Ahoy!

<Pedal powered gyrocopter descends>

I bring a case of Tanquerray, a case of Hendrick and a case of Pernod which Mr Gazongola and I shall work our way through. Do we need more bubbly ?

The sweating, heaving burdon over there is the cellar servant bring a couple of barrels of Indian Tonic and a pile of 78s for our dancing pleasure. Is that the dance floor on the fore deck ? (The servant shall not be joining us, he has to return to attend to the cellar.)

Anyone for a foxtrot ?

Heretical I know, but a shot of Pernod in a flute topped up with bubbly is rather good. Ugly, but good. Smile

Has anyone seen the battenburg ? I thought I put it next to the samovar.

General Banter,
still imperceptible, boards the airship unnoticed (naturally), and makes for the coffee-bar (naturally).

The General is reputed to live solely on caffeine.

I wouldn't say it is particularly heretical. Battenburg. Yuck.
