Thank you! I think I actually joined this forum the day its creation was announced on Facebook, but work has been busy lately, so I haven't had a chance to check it much.

The brooch is made from Sculpey (the airship) and jewelry findings (the brass wings and wheel, and the pin back). I also made the epaulettes and goggles. The telescope was a store-bought toy (I think it started out as a Pirates of the Caribbean spyglass), but I tore the paper label off it and replaced it with a glued-on scrap of leather left over from my goggles project. The jacket (and the plain black trousers you can't see in the picture) is exactly as I found it at the store, except for the addition of gold ribbon trim. (On the trousers, I used a 3/4" wide strip of gold ribbon trim down the outside seam of each leg.)

Mich, that is just wonderful! You always look so well-turned out! You have quite a few accessories, but it all works together. I am quite a fan of knee-length pants ("knickers" in the US) and have several pair. The corset top is that fabulous watch print - did you make it? You have an excellent sense of style.

The corset looks to be silver and black brocade to me. But I'll second that compliment on the short pants.

Hopefully I'll add some after our adventures at the Academy of Sciences in two weeks! As it is, your name is surely most appropriate, as those images certainly would inspire me towards both libel And slander.

why thank you. its probably because ive been dressing in that fashion since i was a little girl. litterally and figuratively. *sigh* there was a day when i was little really i promise! just not in recent memory

This thread is for posting tasteful photographs of oneself, one's creative outfits, and any other objects (art, architecture, etc.) that may be of interest to Steampunks.
Comments of a general nature ("you look lovely", "handsome outfit") are acceptable, as are comments about the construction of an outfit, etc. Please refrain from overly personal remarks about others' looks.
