Re: Colour scheme competition
It's been very strange browsing while you've been changing the colours! Each time I click, a different colour scheme...
This works for me. I had suggested deep red/deep green borders on my example above, but brown is OK too.
I like the little corners on the panels - a nice touch!

Re: Colour scheme competition
Aye, I think I can live with this ...

Re: Colour scheme competition
I think as I slowly get to understand the intricacies of the editing controls I'm slowly going to jazz up the apearaance with a few more motifs, but for today I think I'll keep it pretty much as it is
The problem I've been having with the borders is that the top of the board's box is controlled seperately from the rest of the colours, also when it is changed colour, so does the top of the forum title box & some of the basic format of the forum- so I am cautious about changing this. I can however change the bottom of the border, but this looks odd without the top being the same...
the corners were purely a product of picking the starting design, so I cannot take full credit
--edit--
now you can change teh colour of the topic's tiltle when you post it -how useful

Re: Colour scheme competition
I'll see what I can do, but it does seem to be a flaw with these forums. However there are 3 links at the top of the home page:
View posts since last visit • View your posts • View unanswered posts
& if you click 'View posts since last visit' it acts as a very crude list of last posts
I'll have a quick look now & if nothing is forthcoming I'll give a more intensive search in the morning
--edit--
It's not much, but theres now the odd widget in the side that gives recent posts- I'll see if I can do better tomorrow 'night for now
