It will be interesting what things the pandemic pushes, resulting in changes in how we think about ourselves, our local community and our society. Economically there was already a push to make it locally, courtesy of the China/US rift, but now with all the the supply chain issues, there may be a bigger push to go local. This may have benefits for farmers. Shopping has gone online more but also gone more local as people are less likely to travel. Businesses are looking for stability and surety so inflation may drop as they don't make risks on novel things.

The idea of tree-changing or sea-changing to go rural and escape the city was growing early in the pandemic but will the supply chain issue (and other things that regional areas don't have, like extensive medical facilities) make people go off that idea?

There are lots of possibilities. It will be the job of academics to discuss the evidence for years to come. Like war or natural disaster, you can prepare for what might happen but often you need to be reactive unfortunately.
