It's always a good idea to remove anyone's doubt. Though personally, I never had the impression you were a female.

Yes, they're antique pince-nez reading glasses I found on eBay for an astoundingly low price. Unfortunately, one of the springs is broken, so they don't stay on well when moving about. That, plus the scratch across the whole of one lens, is probably the reason for the very affordable price tag. But they still work, and look quite nice, if I do say so myself^^
Croquet Party Pic
Mr. Sullivan took this pic of me at the Victorian Champagne and Croquet party yesterday (semi-sideways, again)..
And in color, so you can see the beautiful shade of plum of the dress...[img][/img]
Aaargh! Can someone please tell me why my photos keep ending up sideways? The original pic was sideways but I edited it in Photobucket and "replaced" the original...I can't figure out why it's still coming up all skewgee!
PS - That's Dr. Oliver Cross and M. Christopher delaMaison to the right...

The leftmost two's names escape me, but across from there Rach16, myself, Professor Fzz & tiny5th.
I believe the leftmost two are Hartraft and MedwayWitch.

Re: Okay, somebody had to do it...
I figured 'twas long past time I should reveal my image to my fellow steampunks. And as I've been trumped in this aspect by the beautiful Mrs. Sullivan, I figure it is my duty to show that I can, occasionaly, look somewhat presentable. Or at least less ugly than usual. So, here's me:

Very nice outfits, Jingle Joe! I like the leather bandolier in the first pic especially.
What are the various contraptions you are carrying? That glass apparatus looks vaguely threatening.

My new hat. I took the feathers out of the band, and stuck some old clock hands in.
I need to get new period glasses.

I made the bandolier myself
Also the things I am carrying are; a big brass voltmeter, some old wooden boxes and some of my favorite scientific glassware I am not sure what it's original purpose was but it's really damn old, it has a cork stopper!
I acquired it along with a few other sciencey glass bits and one small box containing some tiny glass bulbs had some very antiquitous handwriting on it further suggesting thier age to be really old

Having spent the last year or so living and working in my lab in solitude I'm very interested in all your harems It would be a pleasure to accompany any of you who desire my company
Re: Steamblast mary;
Not a bong Although I have seen some bongs I would have bought entirely because they looked like what I'm holding there
Re:Arthur S. Rowan
Your mad scientist there is amazing, is that you? Also your display picture is great I'm going to change back to my old one now
Re: emmeline_x
I'd more than gladly make you a mad sciency contraption but it will cost you that cost will be one corpse, a wimhurst machine, lots of copper, flourine in compound form and ammonia.
Or about £50

Just a reminder
Although we are all well aware that only the finest, handsomest, and most beautiful of ladies and gentlemen peruse Spare Goggles, I would respectfully ask that we refrain from all such "harem" type comments in this thread, lest we forget that we are, in fact, ladies and gentlemen.
However, should consenting adults wish to participate in such salacious banter in a separate (and clearly-marked) thread, I see no problem with this type of conversation so long as it does not exceed the bounds of good taste (i.e., it will be watched).
Thank you for your consideration, and now, back to our regular programming.

Pawn shop, baby!
Got a new blade at the pawn shop today for a mere $32.46. Just wanted to show it off. I couldn't be bothered to dress up at the moment, but I'm sure it will go well with my outfits.

Now is the hat what you referred to as a "brolly" in your previous post? Or is it an umbrella? I'm confused...
Nice hat though, and I like your tie-dye!

No, the brolly is an umbrella, which I have made a thread for in miscellaneous. I bought the hat at the same time. And thank you!

Ah. You are quite right of course. I remember the fiasco that too much of the, ah, verbal appreciation of natural endowments caused over at Brass Goggles. I apologize.
You present an intersting solution.
I suppose one of the problems with starting a thread whose purpose is to allow for racy comments is that it may attract people who are looking to have such comments made about them, and therefore influence the sort of images presented. I suppose this isn't really a problem as such, but it does alter the flavour of the thread, and make it perhaps a little less about the outfits and such...Hmmm.
I quite liked the institution of the silent thread over on BG.
In order to serve both schools of thought I'll just nip over and create a couple of threads.

Oh come now, Professor, surely you cannot be so naive as to think that this does not go on regularly on BG?
As always, this thread is for general photos & dress-up photos, for those seeking tasteful commentary.
Thank you for starting the Silent as well as the Salacious threads.
