Re: Here we go again?
Don't look at me. I didn't try 'adjusting' anything.
But I agree with the idea of a 'war room' (so long as there's no fighting in).

Yes, I have sent him a message.
Sorry it's taken me a while to show up here folks, was having password issues. Lots of things were set to 'auto-login' and thus with a change of computer, and forgetting said passwords over time, things were proving "interesting" to regain control....

Re: Here we go again?
use the signature to encrypt a clue as to the password. Something like the first letter of each word spells out a number, and the last letter of each word spells a synonym for the rest of the password. the just look for one of your posts and decode the signature.

Re: Here we go again?
The main problem I had was that the email address that I had signed up with for some of the websites, it had been 'hacked' and the info was used to gain entry to a more current email address, which also was broken into. So a bunch of password resets followed. Seems the origination of the email hacks was from a forum I was part of about ten years ago, they were hacked a couple of years ago, and their email and password data stolen. This has since been doing the rounds on various lists ever since, and results in my email addresses getting a lot of spam (and multiple attempts to access various other email addresses and services I use) - hence I don't use them often, hence forgotten passwords etc. And NO - my web based email address password was NOT the same as the forum password. However it was unfortunately very insecure due to the "allowed" max number of alphanumeric characters I could use - 16 characters. It used to be slightly longer, but they automatically shortened them for "convenience" of users, and thus my password became easily broken by a dictionary attack as the numbers (a defunct telephone number) were now deleted from my password (more a "pass-phrase" really).
And to make the issue complex, most of these forums and other web services, all want to send the password reset links to the email address I signed up with - you know, the ones I can't access....

Glad I'm not the only one with problems. Has anyone tried going round the back and giving the machines a good kicking?

Re: Here we go again?
Wasn´t me.
Seems the dynamo drive does not work any more.
*Tapes a buttered toast to the back of a cat, drops the lot.
Cat and toast start rotating in the air.*
Now connect the dynamo. This will keeep going until the centrifugal force has caused enough butter to fly off.
*goes back to his armchair, grabs strangely colourful beverage*
Cheers.

I always enjoy spending time with you in this hideout/emergency shelter.
Maybe we should establish a similar meeting venue when the main ship is back running.
Someone told me there once has been one but that has not been visited since many moons and is now derelice (locked).
Let me hear your opinion.
