I'm hoping this will become a place where people will post their photographic and painted works.

Here's an old one of mine, entitled 'Demouement at Sunset'  to start things off with: a relic of the old BG site, the pic of the RTAF St. Elmo as she begins her return trip from Shanghai with Dreyf, His Niece, Jimmy, Cap'n Ishmael and Chief (and only) engineer Jock. As this was before the ship was fitted with aether-powered propulsion machinery, D-hopper drive or antigravity lofting, in this image she is under way with good old fashioned coal-fired steam powering her side-mounted ducted centrifugal fans, and lofted with Texian helium, hence the dark stream of smoke trailing up and behind her.

Airship also rendered in PSP by MWBailey, but made into a
picture tube and "pasted" on the sunset image.

I also have a tube painting of the HMAS Marigold around here someplace. I'll try to find and post it as well.

Aha! Here's the HMAS Marigold. I posted this image in a couple of the steampunk and dieselpunk groups on FB a couple or few years ago. It's a photo of the eye of a hurricane from the web, with the picture tube of the Marigold pasted in it in Paint Shop Pro 7. I rendered it a couple or few years after the last Marigold RP finished up. The image is kind of what she might have looked like in the original RP The Log of the HMAS Marigold: The Tablet and The Dagger. I can't really remember if she had a gun deck yet at that point (I don't think so, but hey  The Spare Gallery 1f609 ).

I seem to have been somewhat obsessed with the idea that airships of the Victorian period, if they had actually existed, would have been plagued by the "fad," so to speak, that seemed to prevail at the time, of still festooning warships with masts and rigging, as if they were expected to be able to make way and fight under sail. Makes for an interesting image in any case.

Sadly, I seem to be losing my touch in creating such images. Maybe now that I've started painting again I can get my fingers to start cooperating again and pull something off. have to see.

Renamed the gallery so that it sounds less like just me, and more like everybody, which is whom it's for. Post your paintings and pics here too, it's not just for my stuff. Just keep it Splendid, please...
