IMPORTANT: IT SEZ HERE ...
(HERE being: http://steam.punqs.org/brassgoggles/ )
Aaand, we’re back… almost.

Your friendly (and rather welted) techie, here! If you’re seeing this post, you’ve arrived at the new home of BrassGoggles. You may notice that “steam.punqs.org” is in your address bar — don’t panic, this is only a temporary change so that people who have Internet Providers that are less savvy than yours have a chance to catch up. In about a week, the domain name in your address bar will change, and links to either brassgoggles.co.uk or steam.punqs.org will work.
We can’t guarantee that the steam.punqs.org name will be around forever, so please continue to use brassgoggles.co.uk in your links whenever you can. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Comments are back on and, oh yes… and the Forum is back!
Maybe now OSM will put his lash away.

Don't know.
Here, at least, I am seeing the forum sans formatting - the CSS must not yet be in place or something.
Am logged in! Though still without formatting.

Hmm yes is does look like a pale, sickly version of the good old forums...I do wonder what is wrong with the log-in...perhaps in the morning I can sort this out clearer.

Huzzah! A glorious day (or morning, or night, depending where you are)!
....One question though: What will happen to all the stuff over here? Hmm, perhaps it's not as important as I think it could be. Oh well. Just thought I'd ask.

Re: IMPORTANT: IT SEZ HERE ...
A perfectly reasonable question, and one that I asked when BG reappeared for a short time after being dead for several days.
There are any number of ways to deal with this.
First, I think this place should be maintained for the next time (if there is one), and publicized on BG so the folks who never found us can do so at short notice.
Second, threads that were, in effect, carried over here could be patched in on both ends with a couple of complementary links.
Third, threads that started here could be continued here for their natural lifespan, or could be linked over to a continuation on BG. If they remain here, an appropriate link could be placed on BG.
I'm willing to do some of this, but I'm not sure I want to try and handle all 380+ threads.
Also, there's no need for everything to be done the same way, as long as navigation is kept simple (links and backlinks).

Re: IMPORTANT: IT SEZ HERE ...
OldProfessorBear, that would be a lot of work indeed. I suggest that both forums be kept, but individual posters start "New" threads on BG while linking to the old threads on SG and posting in the old that it needs to be locked. Move the conversation, not the files, it's too much for the BG staff. But we should definitely continue Spare Goggles, just in case there is another upset in the Brass Goggles site.

I stepped outside for a moment, and was away for quite some time.
And when I tried to come back, I found the door would not open.
