Emboldened by Captain McCannon, I humbly and nervously submit for your entertainment,

The Aethership Dragonfly

Through the clouds she flies effortlessly in Dreams,

Wafting high and majestic she follows the unknown streams.

As real a ship known, as can be,

Her story, little known, steeped with tragedy.

An unnatural ship wandering through the skies,

A ship with a crew of shadows, known as the Dragonfly.

She breaches the clouds with her four main sails for wings,

Full the sails are, yet trailing ragged strings.

Her main balloon armored with dragon colored scales,

Showing burns and wounds like an elder cloudwhale.

Through the darkness she can be seen illuminated with light.

Her wings glow eerie and forward portal shines bright.

Captains know to give the mysterious ship a wide berth,

Though a few have been bold to close in on her girth.

They have told tales, those surviving few,

Of shapes and shadows resembling a crew.

To be close enough, the poor souls, for a rope to cast,

Were caught broadside from cannon’s deadly blast.

In the Near Dreaming and in the Dreaming Far,

Stories tell of her seen against the Deep Dreaming’s Star.

How long has she roamed? Who is in Command?

What does she search for? What course does she plan?

Through the Void, the Dragonfly soars, quiet as the wind,

The ship gives no answers, no account of her sin.

Thank you.
