For our school musical... we present: Steampunk Barnum!

Our musical this year is Barnum, a fabulous circussey musical about the immortal P.T. Barnum. This in itself is so exciting, but when I was approached by the director about costumes, I nearly died. "I'm thinking that the non-circus folk can have an industrial and steampunk theme," he says to me, "and since I've seen some of your work and your style, maybe you could head that part of the show?"

Of course, I just about fall out of my seat.

He goes on to say he'd like designs, pictures, ideas, and has invited me to don my persona outfit to school one day. This. Is. Awesome.

So I'm asking you this - perhaps you guys could show me your finest steamy regalia? I'll start with the designs and of course, you'll all get to see the entire process, from drawings to realization.

I haven't heard a reference to Barnum since my theatre arts 331 class performed it, goddess, I know not how many years ago. I can't understand why I've not thought of this myself!

i can turn my hand to that i think. Ill have to look up barnume to find out just what is requierd...the NON-circuse people right? Ill look into it

I shall make every effort to photograph the elephants, etc., as they pass by (one hopes) the main buildings of MIT.

(Most years they have followed a different route, passing only newer parts of the campus.)
