Nautilus project WIP - temporary headquarters
Work proceeds on the Nautilus, I'll lay it out here until BG comes back:
This was a big weekend, construction-wise. I got the sub primed and painted, with rust applied. This is the most fun part for me, seeing all the little bits of crap that I've pasted on make sense in the context of a unified model. Thanks to my wife (the artist) for mixing a convincing rust color.

After painting, I got the wheelhouse interior installed and mounted the prop

The phosphorous generator was thrown together with nuts and cut up drinking straws, I think it looks pretty convincing now

All the corrigated deck plates are made of rubber, as are the gratings

the anchors were a pair of plastic earrings I bought on Ebay

Next weekend I should be able to finish, I have to install the lighting, salon and wheelhouse windows, alligator eyes and make the stand.

That is looking fantastic. The detail on the sub is top rate. I do love the detail of the cabin
Really looking forward to seeing it finished.
