Describe yourself in ONE word!( explain why)
Notorious.
Because I have been nearly arrested by the Police, been in the press a few times in my life, nearly involved in a murder case,( and all of these things brought about by cases of mistaken identity, and being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or the like).( I'm not actually bad....Honest!)

Re: Describe yourself in ONE word!( explain why)
Does "Slightly Odd" count as one or two words (I can hyphenate them if you wish)
Alternatively "eccentric" or "unusual" might be better"
Being a suspect in a murder enquiry is not fun - I had that dubious honour once!
( after "helping with enquiries" I was absolved very quickly of any wrong doing)

Re: Describe yourself in ONE word!( explain why)
Can Madscientist be one word? I suppose not...
"Madman" (or genius, its strange how often those two traits coincide )
I have a few screws loose and my mainspring is overwound. But I still create amazing things ... while trying not to sound too conceited I do electronics and play many strange instruments, I have a collection of very old voltmeters too and a collection of very old bottles amounting to over 350 articles . I live and work in solitude, but this seems to be the fate of most madmen.

Re: Describe yourself in ONE word!( explain why)
"Scandalous" might be the word.
Why? Because I met Mr. S. when he was a mere lad of 19 and I was a divorcee of 37 with two children.
They said it would never last.
Fourteen years later, we have the last laugh!

Re: Describe yourself in ONE word!( explain why)
At the risk of seeming to sound facetious, the word I would use to describe myself is "me".
Why? Because I had to fight very hard at school to accept that I am who I am, and two decades after leaving I'm not entirely sure I've won that fight yet.

Ditzy
Because I'm very easily distracted, especially in social situations. I fluster easily in public and lose my train of thought. I tend to compensate with nervous chatter and laughter, which ironically makes people think I'm gregarious.
Conversely, when I'm on my own, I'm capable of intense concentration, being so focused on what I'm doing that I tune out everything else, and forget that the kettle's boiling, the bathtub's overflowing, the ice cream's melting on the kitchen table, the keys are hanging in the lock of the front door, etc., etc.

Eclectic.
My taste is all over the place, I have a mix of style that is vast.

While I am inclined to concur with Herr Döktor and & Von Corax, if I had to choose one I suppose 'curious' would have to fall fairly high on the list.

Outmoded:
- Adjective; 1st known usage in 1903; (a) not being in style; (b) no longer acceptable, current, or usable, as in outmoded customs.
No real explanation needed, let the pix do the talking;
Sitting around at the office this week at my nearly empty desk (about to move into a new building) in my fairly Victorian British colonial daily wear, somewhat modernized African safari/Aussie outback shirt and pants with my 1920s telephone headset (steamed by SP member David Wells) which I then switched out the old electrics with modern phone electronics.

Re: Describe yourself in ONE word!( explain why)
I'm somewhat torn between 'eccentric' and 'anglophilic.'
Forced to choose, I think I'd go with 'eccentric,' as the second, in these parts, is a subset of the first.
Simply put, I'm odd.

Alchemical
Always changing, but still the same stuff that began. Of logic, philosophy, science, and mysticism with a touch of focus and plenty of eccentricity.
