Picture Sizes

Picture Sizes
Evening all.
I've noticed that there is a maximum picture width imposed on both uploaded images and those hosted elsewhere. For anything over the alloted width, the right part is loped off. Is there any way to increase the size of the images allowed to at least accommodate a 3 MP picture? I understand a size limit on the images hosted on the site, but at least for images hosted elsewhere It'd be nice to be able to have the full image show without having to open up an editor and bother resizing.
THANKS!

Re: Picture Sizes
I don't see any place to change that (for the gallery, yes, but we don't have one).

Re: Picture Sizes
There seems to be a bit of a general problem with pictures at the moment -I've just been looking through the admin panel, but haven't found anything particularly helpful. Perhaps if this persists I'll open the gallery & see if I pictures work properly from there...
