You've got a... submarine at home??! Why would you even leave home if you had a... hang on, you mean a model submarine, don't you? Crikey, you had me going for a moment!
That was the idea!

Re: Celestial Orb (continued)
i honestly dont like the idea of a dome around the ship. it just doesnt seem right. after all, it IS supposed to be a rocket? the dome just seems to cramp or trap it in, makes it seem like it couldnt fly off its stand (as any good model should be able to do). in my opinion, a second dome would be better used for making some sort of alien skull/artifact thing, and have them both next to each other, with fancy little display labels, and have your fantastic suit on a stand next to them. it would give the whole thing the feel of some sort of very fancy official museum display (one worthy of such a great ship!
)

Damn my eyes Herr Doktor. Another sublime creation!
Bravo!
I quite like the idea of a dome over the model m'self. Keep it away from prying fingers and all that!

Herr Doktor, this thing is an inspiration. I've been away from the forum a long time, and one look at this creation makes me wonder how I managed. Truly a marvel.

Actually, it would be easier to flake off some rust and mix it into some sand instead of trying too hard to color up some sand red. Not to mention, you'd want to get some sandstone, too, for the landscape features...

Re: Celestial Orb (continued)
Like everyone else, I am in absolute awe. There is nothing at all about this that looks like a botch or a shortcut. Nothing that screams "Sod it, that'll do" or "near as damnit".
I think the most redeeming feature, aside from the actual piece, is how you occasionally just pop up and casually say "I did a bit more" without any great fanfare or ceremony.
I haven't been on BrassGoggles, so I missed the beginning stages of the project. What did it start out as?
Do you do this for a living?
