Friends, Romans, countrymen lend me your ears
Let the lyrics of my message start spinnin’ your gears
The world is ready for the taking by a different breed
So come about and bring the engines up to ramming speed
This has just become the new text alert on my phone, unless there are any objections of course.
Still looking for a flag mind..
Well done sir, a seminal work.

My Dear Lady,
Your most gracious offer, pending the completion of your wondrous device, has sent my spirit to repose amongst the clouds!
In the meantime, whilst you tinker with the details of your machine, I've been speaking with some members of the Seattle Steamrats on the matter of creating a video to accompany the audio. I'm of two approaches to the concept, the first being a homespun video made using the delightful characters and costumes of the Steamrat community, in a visual narrative.
The second idea is to broaden the call for video footage to the entire steampunk community around the world, requesting that anyone who has a camera and the ability to digitize their footage, to submit their footage for inclusion in a montage-style video, with the best quality footage making the final cut. The song's only ~3:20, so I think there could possibly be more than enough footage submitted. This concept not only harnesses the power and creativity of the community, but also gives us all a chance to shine and gain some recognition, as those whose footage is used would be fully credited and receive DVD copies of the video. There are just far too many talented individuals here that I think should be the primary focus of any video made. (Hint Hint, Herr Doktor)
In this case, I might organize a board or subforum, to request specific shot requests for individuals to stage, such as "The mad scientist in his laboratory" or "The Sky Commander with his pirate crew". There would also be some need for group efforts, such as some victorian dance.
Good Sir A. Poiselamppe,
Thank you! I certainly have no objections to you using the song in any way you see fit, as long as no small animals are harmed in the process.

Re: My Steam Rap
A bit off-topic, but if you enjoy Elemental's tea rap, you may also enjoy his group, The Menagerie's free album, Wild Kingdom. Being a huge nerd, I especially enjoy the two-part song about being a Batman villain.

Excellent I shall therefore load the elephant gun with an MP3 of this exceptional ditty...
All we need to do now is to storm the houses of Parliment/city hall in a suitably civilised fashion...
Have you a deadline for submissions in mind?

I've bounced the idea of a community-based approach off of my doctor, pharmacist, legal counsel and military adviser, the Indomitable Professor Fate, a.k.a. Krononaut.
He informed me that the Amazing Dr. Steel had utilized the same idea for his video for "Back and Forth". In contemplating Dr. Steel's fan base and popularity, relative to my fairly unknown and short musical interlude, doubt arises as to whether I could gather enough footage within a decent time frame. After I produce more songs and gain more exposure, perhaps I could assume that there would be enough response to take the community-based approach.
He also brought up another good point, that of the legalities involved requiring release forms and assignation of all rights to the footage. It is on this last subject that I'm hesitant to proceed with a wider community-based plan. Boilerplate of the cast-iron type interests me...the legal kind does not. A necessary evil, but I feel more comfortable asking for a release from a volunteer after I've shaken their hand and they can look me in the eye.
In the meantime, I've been sending out emails and gathering my resources to get production going on the other approach, utilizing the local Steamrats community. Hopefully, I can get a good response from them, get a stage and some production underway.

Re: My Steam Rap
I feel compelled to share this delight with others, so have set the link (and link to this thread) up in a thread over in BG- hope that's OK.
