Steamy Knittery?

Post  Mad Miss Holmes on Thu Oct 16, 2008 8:05 am

So I noticed that there was a thread for those of us capable of weilding a sewing machine, but there doesn't seem to be one for those of us who work with yarn. If there already is one, just ignore me here, but I'd like to see what other steamy knitters are making and have made! And some patterns, if they're available. Very Happy

My current project: A knitted corset, knitted from this pattern. I was thrilled to find this pattern, since I've been wanting something that looks like a corset (but isn't, since it has no boning) and is knitted, since I'm useless with needles any thinner than 2mm.

I think socks are steamy. :3 Especially when paired with nifty shoes and a pair of breeches.
Scarves are, also. You've gotta have something to keep your neck warm while you're off exploring the Arctic or wandering the deck of your airship.

I knit pretty well anything I can get my hands on. Knitwear is always great for gifts (I don't know how many scarves and gloves and socks etc. I've given out for Christmas and birthdays), and it looks nice, too.

My better works are on my DeviantART account, in my Knittery folder. The rest I either didn't care to photograph or had sent off to it's ultimate home before I recalled that I wanted to photograph it.

When I'm done with my corset, I'm going to start on this jacket. It struck me as nicely steamy. I'll have to learn split stitch, though. I haven't used it yet.

Thank you! I haven't the skills for it, either, but I'll learn as I go.
Good luck with your practice! And I hope to see some of your creations.

Post pictures of your sock? I made a pair on two needles once, and I tried making a toeup sock, but it didn't quite turn out. I'm really better at working flat than working in the round.
Happy knitting, and good night!

Oh, no! I'd be lost without my knitting bag.

I'm having a bit of trouble with your photos, though...

Pheobsky: I really love the lining on that bag! And the tassel is a nice little touch.

Dandeliondream: Now you've made me want to do more socks... It's about the time of year when snuggly footwear would be nice to have, anyway.
