thought I'd drop in to see how everyone is surviving without the BG forum. Looks like things are running well here. For those who don't know me-I'm clairdelune, I most often post on the aural/ocular and anatomical boards on BG with a dose of offtopic from time to time.

Stormfeather here from Portlandia.
Aye, Portland, Oregon, that's where I dock...when I'm not in Black Rock City or aboard the Heart of Gold or playing on the high seas with scurvy pirates.
Nice to see a few familiar countenances.

Re: New member introduction thread.
Hullo?
I say--Is anyone there?
Just recently learned 'bout the Brass Goggles thingummy and dashed if I didn't try to join in and it didn't seem to work.
Tried everything--even gave my computron a good thwack, but to no avail. After about two weeks, I noticed a notice whatsit saying something about Spare Goggles. "Hmm," I say to self--"this might just be the missing link."
I point the blinking whozit at the link thingy, a twitch of the old index finger, and "Viola!" Here I am.

I think this goggle thingummy is a bit out of order too, though not as bad as the first one.
It says my post was made on October second at 2:15 AM.
Well, the slightest glance at my clock and calendar tells me it is October first, and it is almost 6:30 PM.
Do we need to call a mechanic to perform some repairs?

Off to reset the old profile thingy.

Re: New member introduction thread.
Captain Lyerly here. Lurked a while on BG, then decided to actually become real.
Interested in live steam, nautical and military aspects of SP, exploration off the map, und so weiter.
Languages a bit of a specialty.
I have recently acquired loads of Victorian brick-a-brack, lots of brass fiddly bits, and hope to have a chance to get into the workshop for some serious contraptionating.
First project: melting silver. For some real, genuine sterling silver bullets.

I've been traveling around in the year 1880 so it took me awhile to get my chronometer back online to find my way to any of you.
Just want to keep track of the San Diego folks, and what they're up to.

Re: New member introduction thread.
Miss Aetherly here.
Lurked through BG for a while until it went down, active on various LJ groups as lolasangel and decided to finally delurk here.
Currently calling San Francisco my home, but I consider Portland, OR my second home. My interests include writing, photography, textile crafts [sewing, knitting, weaving], costume design and history. And naturally Steampunk fell in with those things.
So...hello!

Re: New member introduction thread.
There are a few facilities for checking out your threads - I'm not quite up to going into all of them, but there's something under the Actions menu, as well as a handy orange disk on the thread listings that flags threads you've posted in.

Greetings. I picked a bad time to discover these forums, at sea and down one satellite, but I'll slog through somehow! Looks like a good group of people, and I look forward to getting the other bird back and being able to tolerate forum activities again. =)

Never fear Jaq is here
G'day possums
Finally found me way 'ere.
BG goes down and the world totters on the edge of an economic crisis...can it be a coincidence I ask?
Probably not, a butterfly flapping it's wings in South America, hurricanes in Japan and all that stuff.
Kept meself busy finishing the last story for my soon to be published novel.
Not a Steampunk book I'm afraid.
A collection of my sword and sorcery stories...worth reading of course, tell you so meself.
Anyhoo...just popped in to say G'day to anyone I know (and everyone I don't know gets included also)
This forum seems to be doing a stirling job.
Keep up the good work.
Cheers: Jaq.
