Please let it just be me...

Post  Xenos on Sun Oct 31, 2010 9:09 am

But it seems that The Dark and Powerful Cthulhu has reared his ugly head, and brassgoggles propper is down. Cant even access the blog! Now, as far as my end, network is working fine, cleared out my temp files/cookies/etc., still getting nothing. No error messages, says I need to "diagnose my connection," or someothersuchsillyness. When I DO that, it finds no problems.

Of course, the rise of Cthulhu from anther dimension brings about 3,000 years of darkness, where we will all be driven to madness and made to serve as Cthulhu’s cult of slaves...

Might as well start now then... Ph'nglui Mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh Wgah'nagl Fhtagn!

Nice to see the world on the other side of the Atlantic is still there! I can't do anything but to confirm what your fine ladies and Gents have discussed. All I know from my end is that the Brassgoggles server does not respond and my browser times out.

Bulloks! I was going to present my Steampunk Altar for the Day of the Dead (Nov 2). Are you sure anyone of you hasn't disgruntled a spirit or two? May I suggest raising an altar with a suitable copper-pipe crucifix to apease the dead? Very Happy

Well anyway here's a couple of pictures of my altar to set the mood... (just click to see directly from my server, so as not to clutter the forum...)

No luck from this side of the world either - and I am pedalling as fast as I can, but I am getting the same 'time out' issues.

And I have today of work too!

Oh well - more time in the workshop I suppose, time to get cracking on the UV pump monogoggle/bracer accessory for my New Years Eve costume...

@J. Wilhelm: Is that a copper Kraken I spy?! VERY well made, very well indeed! As we say here in the south (US), "Tha' rot thar shaw iz purdy!" Or, being translated into proper english, "That, my friend, is a fine piece of craftsmanship, worthy of all honour and praise. Pray, continue to dazzle and delight with your creations!"

Back on point:
5:00PM, EST, still down. Atleast I'm getting the little cog icon in my tab now!

Ah well, with the forums down, I'll just get back on my goggle making... I bit off more than I could chew for sure, will NOT be done today (last second changes to the plans throw EVERYTHING off...), but at least they'll look nice!

Good day all, and I'll be popping on ever-so-oft to check stati etc...

Praise the Dark Cthulhu, long may he reign...

Thank you Herr Doktor! Very Happy Much Obliged, as we say on this side of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Dear Xenos: Yes it is a larger version of my smaller Crowned Pigmy Kraken. All copper pipe and brass fittings. The larger Kraken is part of another project. It was featured in another post regarding toys...err.. of an "adult nature" at Brassgoggles Very Happy This is the "G-rated" version!

And you can see the complete article on the Steampunk Day of the Dead Altar here (I wanted to post a "copy on BG Mad ):

Oh my. I'm not... I'm not entirely sure what to say to that, other than "Sounds quite interesting!" *Makes mental note to check site when it's back up* Innocent and clean as the driven snow! Yup, that's me!

I'll have to read the article when I get back in tonight. I'll be sure and check back and leave my thoughts then!

To the good Doctor: Thanks kindly, good sir! 'Tis truly a hard day if I'm not able to access brassgoggles! *smacks vein in arm, sideways glances* What? Dont judge me! I'm not addicted! I can quit ANY TIME!!! hehe

Re: Please let it just be me...

Interesting stuff there, Mr. Wilhelm! Leanred quite a bit about the culture, too (always a plus)! If only we could write the obituaries here in the states, and not be looked at as "insane," "psychotic," "deranged," or get arrested for an implied "hitlist!" Ah, the politically correct crowed, always ruining our fun... >.< The skull IS rather impressive, but my favorite part is the Pigmy Kraken (although I stand by my very first post on spare goggles, I'm a FIRM believer in Cthulhu! Yes, I know, mutaully exclusive... Still!)!

Speaking OF Kraken, Mega Shark VS Giant Octopus will be warming my DVD player tonight.

BG still down then, eh? *Snatches hookah from the smoking room* If I'm to be here for any length of time, I'll need my vices I suppose... By the way, as someone fairly new to these forums (I think I joined either the end of August or first of September), is this a, ahem, fairly regular thing? I know the boards are usually down between 12-1 AM EST for "maintenance" etc...

At any rate, back to the grindstone for me!

... Yeah, that's about the most incoherient and rambling post I think I've ever made! Sorry, I blame the NyQuil... Very Happy

EDIT: For even MORE random and pointless ranting: I HATE FACEBOOKS "reply all" BUTTON! Dear GOD! My inbox is so cluttered with POINTLESS messeges!

Come to think of it... I hate Facebook in GENERAL.

Thank you Xenos. Yes, I had some time in my hands since I missed the Halloween celebrations, and specifically a Steampunk Ball this saturday... Oh, well.

Ha, ha! I'm also fond of the Magnetotheutididae Borealis myself; the Pigmy Kraken is turning out to be a quite versatile fellow. I think the black iron threaded cap on the large one in the picture above looks a little like a bowler hat!

BTW. For readers arriving to this thread: no change in status yet folks.

Ah, sorry to hear that... My people are doing a bit of a costume-esq party come the 6th, mostly due to none of us being able to "party like a rockstar" on the 2nd (without getting into it, my family takes politics like most people take that big, hulking AMERICAN football event that's so copyrighted you cant even say ITS NAME coughcoughtSUPERBOWLcoughcoughcough...).

And what better cap for the chap to wear? I mean, unless you could rig him with a Tophat and... OH! One with a monacle! Ok, yes, I know, that'd be taking it a bit far, but EVERYONE needs a mascot!

OT: 3:30 AM EST (gotta love insomnia), Brassgoggles proper is still down. I'm sure everyone already knew that though, because if you're anything like me, you're checking THERE before you post HERE! hehe

If it's not back up by this evening, I'm just going to start posting here like there never went down. Or something like that.

Something THIS major can ONLY mean Cthulhu has awoken (I'm ALREADY going mad!)... Wonder if "Keep Calm, Carry On" applies to THAT! Question
