Eh, bit musty in here, but I must say that turkey looks absolutly scrumptions Harold. wish I had known about dinner though, I would have brought some down home victuals. I did however, remember to bring a nice white muscadine wine.

Whilst we are awaiting dinner, I think perhaps some sherry. I know supplies have been a bit uneven recently, but I have received a pipe of what passes for Amontillado, and I have my doubts...and I was silly enough to pay the full Amontillado price without consulting you in the matter. You were not to be found, and I was fearful of losing a bargain. Would you care to accompany me, and render your opinion?

Mine was on Monday and though BG was operational I spent the day flying to North Carolina way too early in the morning and working until 11:00 PM. Such is life!

I don't feel 40...

I turn 30 on the 20th of February. I feel as if I am gaining on you Sir!

You both have a ways to go to catch up.. I'm 58, although my knee and one hip are nigh on 90...

Mine is coming up... less than a week after I have an operation. Talk about timing.

Ah, yes, the ancient hip/knee problem.

OPB is 64 (yikes!) and recently developed a really nasty case of sciatica. It seemed to be getting better, then got worse, then better ... well, the whole "one step forward, two steps back" thing. At this very moment I am roasting my left buttock in the hope that it will get me through the weekend, which it might.

Now, Mrs Bear, though a tad younger, developed the ancient knee about a year ago. So between the two of us we have them both ...

Sir Nikolas Vendigroth was in charge of it,but I don't know if he has been here or not.

I was lucky, I have it save my address in my email.

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed or noted this as well, but the Blog for Brass Goggles is also reporting an error, "Error establishing a database connection" more specific.

Cheers.

(notes the turkey,cake,cheese,fruit,teas,scones,etc.)

How about city and country ham,a cheese grits casserole, assorted juices and condiments, coffee, bakedbeans, kippers, sliced tomatoes (from the hothouse),boiled custard and a choice of eggs <any style>? jocolor

I'm hoping BG will be back up in time for my birthday Monday but calling this place a mere Brass Goggles surrogate is like calling electricity a make-do measure when one is out of gas.

It can serve in that capacity but it has virtue in its own right that would make it worthy as a stand-alone entity.

Someone who found this place first might think of Brass Goggles as an SG auxilary. Wink

'Tis true, even with BG up to speed I get nostalgic about SP. It feels more, I don't know, managable, like you've got more chance of getting to read everything you mean to. And it's size makes it feel more intimate. Like we are indeed the storm toss'd travellers of the previous intro, huddling together for warmth, sharing a billycan of something and keeping our spirits up with a bawdy sing-song.

All together now: Oh, I knew a girl with the shiniest goggles, the shiniest goggles had she...
