I really like that! Aesthetics, of course, vary from person to person, but the concept of incorporating vintage manners/mannerisms into a practical, everyday experience is very interesting. I wonder if that book of manners idea had anything regarding headphones in it...

And I must admit I've noticed the same etiquette developing (The one earphone out for brief greeting, both for a conversation; just like tipping a hat/removing it completly)
I have behaved the same way - it just seemed natural!

That really is a wonderful idea. I myself, as a general rule, remove one earphone when entering a building or greeting someone. I believe that Emily Post would be proud of this idea.
