remember a couple o' weeks ago

Post  dman762000 on Sun Sep 28, 2008 6:48 pm

I came on Steampunk forums and started a thread in off topic about how my gallbladder had to come out?
Well. I put it off and it hurt some more then it really started hurting. I had emergency surgery thursday night to remove a ruptured gall bladder, and I am just now getting to where I can function again. I thought I would keeep everyone updated and warn you all. If your doctor tells you to have something out, don't ignore him go do it right away.

Yeowww! Glad you're feeling better. Hope I never get a chance to find out what it's like, but if I do, I'll follow your advice.

ouch! i had mine removed at age 22. so i know your pain. no matter what your doctor tells you avoid animal fat like the plague! he will tell ya stuff like, "Well, in a few months you'll be able to digest it as if your gallbadder was never removed." yeah sure.... so long as you dnt mind the tummy pain and running to the restroom!

on a side note i know how you feel with the rupture. apparently mine was so close when they opened me up to remove it it ruptured from the preasure change in my body. nasty stuff. mine has swollen to the sice of my fist with stones. (your gallbadder is normally the size of a golf ball.)

take it easy be kind to your body and drink green tea!

Well, I appreciate all the good tidings. Ms Boo, does green tea really help? I had heard that it helps but I was wondering. I think i am feeling the pain of some bad diet things tonight. a slight pain but a strange unknown pain just the same, but I am back at work and all seems to be on the mend although I do still have 4 holes in my gut.

it has helped me. there are certain chemicals in green tea (and black but less so) that help carry the extra fat out of your digestive system. it can also help keep your tummy in good working order since it is now doing its job and your gallbladder job. i drink a few cups a day. also if you are feeling adventurous have some roasted dandelion root tea (i call it dandy coffee) ooooor switch up to chicery coffee since chicory is a relative of the dandy and shall have a similar effect. Now it has been a long standing tradition in my family to eat things from nature and I have indeed had your dandy coffee. Also we have a habit of importing community coffee, RT coffee and CDM coffee from louisana on a regular basis. They each have a generous amount of chickory in them, I have never tried green tea though maybe I should.

sorry it took me forever to get back. technical difficulties (boiler blew) but yes both of those are very good choices. Smile if you choose to eat a fatty meal just be sure to drink loads of water and/or green tea after it will lesson the effects Smile

Ah, yes, camp coffee. Good stuff that, a bit strong but, you know. That stuff shown does indeed make a good cold drink when mixed with milk.
