Found in a shop in Banff today - Art glass rayguns!

Post  HAC on Sat Sep 27, 2008 3:44 am

Was out to Banff for lunch today, found this dispaly case in "Rock, Silver, Paper" - a whole bunch of blown art glass and brass rayguns..

Who would have thought, rayguns, in a trendy gift shop in Banff..

If you find yourself in western Alberta frequently, you should stop in there again, and see if the studio could put you in touch with the artist, such that you might then direct this worthy gentleman towards our humble community. What say you?

I'm such a big fan of arty 'tat', but those are rather good!

Those are sweet!

You might appreciate these:

I think he might be from Seattle (a.k.a. Land o' Art-Glass). I got to see these through a gated door at the Science Fiction Museum here. Unfortunately the guard on duty that night couldn't be there, so we had to view the things at a distance through a fencey/gatey thing. Most of them are a couple to three feet tall (a meter, for you non-'Mericans). Very lovely.
