The Corpus Clock Empty The Corpus Clock

This may be old news to some of you all, but this was the first I'd seen and am enchanted. I love the lights used to tell the time, and the "ChronoPhage" that devours the gear-teeth one second at a time. Apparently Stephen Hawking did the introductory lecture for it last week.

That is one of the most beautiful creations I've ever seen! It truly embodies the Steampunk aesthetic, with it's mix of old (clockwork, mechanical) and new (LED) technologies. The ChronoPhage is functional, yet whimsical and beautiful. Inspiring! cat

I posted the video on youtube.

Actually, there was already a video on YouTube, linked from a blurb at MAKE: Blog.

The picture itself doesn't do it justice. I didn't realize the size and complexity until I saw the video! My

Brilliant in its simplicity!

The older YouTube posting has a distorted aspect ratio, at least on my computer, and the official video won't full-screen, so it's thanks to Captain Zaphod that I've been able to magnify it to see it better inspect the mechanism more closely. Smile
