The New Brass Goggles Wiki Awareness Thread
Since our poor Brass Goggles is bedridden with the consumption still, I decided to put up a Brass Goggles Wiki thread here.
The wiki, c'est ici: http://editthis.info/brass_goggles/Main_Page
You're all encouraged to add pages, edit, and do whatever you wish to it! For some reason, though, image uploading is mucked up due to the host ): But that ought to change soon.

Re: The New Brass Goggles Wiki Awareness Thread
I have been editing and uploading quite a bit. I am hoping I can use it to demystify some of the plot in the steam London thread and attract more players.

I read that and am sort of confused...the characters all suddenly seem to change between Cairo and Hindu Kush...all these old characters I've never heard of disapear and suddenly Trip and Patrick are there.

I am intrigued by the "Portrayal" boards, but have not the slightest idea of how one participates in this activity, although I suspect that it might be highly enjoyable. Might you be able to point potential new players in the direction of some sort of instructional thread?

I'm not terribly concerned, I've got a towel and a cup of Earl Gray.

Re: The New Brass Goggles Wiki Awareness Thread
I think I may add some general playing tips to the wiki and the portrayal bord on bg when it come back up. A lot of people ask how to get started and it can be rather daunting.
Realy a lot of people see how big the threads are and get scared off but joining a game is simple. Most of them have a place for you to post a description of your persona for the game and a out of character thread to ask questions about game stuff or talk out things with your fellow players. When I joined Steam london I had only read the last five pages and the character descriptions. If you don't quite understand what is going on the best thing is to ask a player. Every one I have met is friendly and helpful.
Freeform is not like any other type of role playing I have encountered. What you are basically doing is writing a story with other people. You post a part then the other people respond to your post and add their own part to the story. The best thing to do in your posts is to leave spaces for others to respond and if you want to do something to someone else's character ask them if it is ok. Other than that your only real limit is your writing skills and imagination. I hope you do deside to join a story I have found it to be a wonderfull way to spend time.

Re: The New Brass Goggles Wiki Awareness Thread
Steam London is fastpaced and fairly freestyle - you can write what you want, fairly often. Thus, that game is very interesting...has a nice madcap feel to it all the time. Probably because of a good line of active villians and plots. And above decent writing.

Re: The New Brass Goggles Wiki Awareness Thread
We do have some very good writers that have been able to keep me on the edge of my seat and longing for more.
I love what you have done Vap. I am working on filling in the gaps in the story. If my darn tooth would leave me be I would have more done but I will get it up tonight.
I was able to recover pages 13,23,28,31,37,39,41,42,43,47,49,50,51,52,53,55 and 57. So I have more than memory to run on thank goodness.

You seem to have done alot of work. All I've managed to do is a bit of organizing...if there are more links and the spelling is corrected, it was probably me.

Re: The New Brass Goggles Wiki Awareness Thread
Thanks for the fixes it seems that the longer I stare at a screen the more escapes my notice. I will keep working but I have to leave tomorrow to go to a funaral and I may not be back until Thursday. If you want to put up some of the later story that would be good even if it is a simple list I can flesh out when I get back. After it is caught up keeping it current should be easy. Then we will have to make a link to it in the out of character thread. I hope that keeps the size of the thread from frighning people away.

Re: The New Brass Goggles Wiki Awareness Thread
Perhaps someone could put up some tutorials for dressmaking, corsetry, and general sewing? There aren't any anatomical ones up yet. ): Also, maybe one of you Portrayal veterans could aid in fleshing out the Introduction to Portrayal here? http://editthis.info/brass_goggles/A_Brief_Introduction_to_Portrayal_and_Roleplaying
I began it, but I'm not much for instruction, I'm afraid. ): Thanks for all your help so far!
