I remember the good old brassy goggly days of Rowan of Rin, The Lone Cat Charmer, Proff. Blakehurst, etcetera etcetera...
If there are any tinkerers out in the antipodes missing the contact via foruming please unite!

Re: Melbourne Victoria punkers of steam
Well, I am teetering on the edge of life and death, I have some unknown affliction, which I am wishing would clear up!
I go marketing every week if I can, so would you like to meet up this coming Sunday?
I will write more when it doesn't feel like pigeons have nested in my brain, and have decided to relieve themselves. Many times over.

Re: Melbourne Victoria punkers of steam
I am here!
<Waves flag and makes tooting noises!>
I've been plodding a long a bit - new contract which is nice, but I now get paid monthly which is not so nice as there is an additional two week lag on pay processing, so six weeks until the first pay. Well, three weeks now, but I have a good budget-type lad.
Looks like I could be down your way the weekend after the Cup.

Re: Melbourne Victoria punkers of steam
Most excellent!
I am off to explore the subcontinent for three weeks from this coming weekend so I shall return laden (hopefully) with useful parts but still ready to descend into the madness that is Camberwell.
And I shall be around on the weekend after Melbourne equine flogging day - so the market on the 9th is a possibility
Also, there is an antique tool sale at Glenferrie Primary school that same morning - potentially a good source of ray gun parts.
Toodle pip,

I might be at Camberwell this Sunday (it depends on what grade I want to receive on my German test the next day), picking up some odds and ends.

Re: Melbourne Victoria punkers of steam
If anyone wants to join me at Camberwell this Sunday, afterwards I can show you my latest discovery: the most awesome shop known to man/woman. It is just outside Windsor station on the Sandringham line, but well worth it. It is like Wunderkammer, but (dare I say it) even better! Full of all sorts of curiosities, old chemistry stuff, optical stuff, anatomical charts and the like. I was like a kid in a candy shop...
Damn! Just realised, can't go this Sunday, I have to go to an auction (where I might pick up some cool stuff as well) afterwards, maybe the next Sunday? Or maybe it isn't open on a Sunday at all...I will have to investigate and get back to you!

Dear Mr. Rin - praytell what is the name of this store you have discovered???
I am in need of a new stock of parts for my next assignment - I have very nearly completed my ray gun (see my website).

Hmmm, if I proceed at an ungentlemanly pace, I can probably just make it from work to Windsor station and back during my lunchbreak...
I'm sure they'll understand if I end up being two hours late coming back.

Re: Melbourne Victoria punkers of steam
If you want to go, I found out the shops details today.
It is called 'Tarlo & Graham', and is situated at 60 Chapel, St, Windsor. Enjoy the wonders to be held! Also, I have Stuff to show you guys, when I pick it up tommorow. Until then, I am off to read my book

You, sir, are being deliberately provocative!
I need enough money left in my wallet to get home again.

For those who came in late...
Whilst the Victorian meet up thread is up and running again at BG - I thought it provident to post here again.
Rowan and myself shall be at Camberwell market this Sunday (8th November) trawling for steampunk paraphanalia.
If any Melbournians are so inclined - please do join us.
Cheers all,
