USA TV Notice: 20,000 AND 30,000 Leagues Under the Sea - 7 Dec 08

For at least USA Direct TV viewers on the Encore sub-network of Starz, this is a double header starting at 5:30 AM Sunday. I have not seen either, but I had heard 20,000 (1997, staring Ben Cross at Capt Nemo) was pretty bad, and I did not even know 30,000 existed (2007, Lornezo Lamas as Aronnaux, Sean Lawlor as Nemo) until now, though I'm pretty certain the Oscar nomination committee did not overlook 30,000 by accident when the awards were handed out. On the plus side, one of my all time fave movies, "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai", follows these 2 'classics'. markf

Ugh, 30,000 was atrocious. It took way to long for Nemo to show up as a character, and at that point, I quit watching it. Because that was not our good friend Captain Nemo.
