I'm here too until BG is going again, will post when I can, but am a little busy trying to fix a dead backlight on my LCD monitor (turns out it's a faulty CCFL lamp - now digging in my parts bin for old laptop displays that have working CCFLs, and that will fit in my monitor.....).

...Ok!
You know when you start a post, and then can't think of anything to actually put in it, so you waffle on about something anyway.......it was one of those.

yes I know what you mean. I was just being baffled by the tech talk and nodding in agreement.

Maxine reporting for temporary duty, folks!

LOL. That's the first thing that came to mind when I tracked this down. I leave for a few days to go to Burning Man, and forum drama erupts. Then the forum crashes. Much wringing of hands ensues.
At any rate, Thanks Pheopbsky for setting this up. I needed a fix, and I'm not even much of a computer person.

Re: New member introduction thread.
I was forced to register for a Facebook account, of all things...
But, though long and arduous the journey was, here I have made it. Now if only more posts would be put up, that I might go back to reading the new posts every half hour or so.
I am N.F.N. Tanuki, Master of Ceremonies, and relative newcomer to the Steampunk scene. Brass Goggles went down, and the next morning my own site went down. I am beginning to suspect a conspiracy. Which leads to the question: How can convicts engage in piracy? Are they not properly imprisoned?

Good evening, all! 'Tis I, your friendly neighbourhood Dr. Oliver Cross. I've managed to make it here, and I only had to sacrifice thirty people's souls to my soulfurnace to power my way here! I'm getting much better MPS (miles-per-soul) these days it seems.

Re: New member introduction thread.
Thank God In Heaven's above! I wandered off from the computer the day before yesterday and when I came back the forum was gone! When it didn't come back I became quite agitated - petticoats all of a tremble!
So Hello, so good to see you all!
I was aghast at the prospect of BG being gone for good, and had to google quite frantically to find here....
Many thanks to the Spare Goggles Inventor - a fine piece of tinkering indeed
