Hello forum members, esteemed collegues, ladies, gentlemen, etc.

New poster/forum member here.

I am working on a design for a wind-up flyer for a spinning wheel. The flyer is the part that collects the spun yarn onto the bobbin. There are geared-versions of a flyer-winder out there, namely the WooLee Winder, which is a fine winder, but you cant use your own bobbin on the flyer, they sell geared bobbins at a hefty price that only fit on their winder.

I have been wracking my brain ...

Welcome to the first (hopefully first of many) Spare Goggles ATC Swap.

first things first, some of you might not know what an ATC is, or may just want some things clearing up. An ATC is an Artist Trading Card, a miniature work of art measuring 2 1/2" by 3 1/2", that artists trade between themselves with the aim of collecting and gathering a whole art collection, but in miniature. They are only ever traded for another ATC or given as gifts, they are never sold for money, goods ...

I am considering fabricating some Steampunk buttons from polymer clay. The first design I am planning is buttons made to look like gears with three holes. One should backstitch through the holes to form a triangular "axle" design to fasten them to clothing. The other is buttons that look like clocks, with the holes designed so that when fastened the thread forms the hour and minute hands. They would be around 3/4" to 1" in diameter, as I plan them.

I am wondering who ...

I was thinking yesterday that, this being the community most open to the idea, a steampunk cooperative would work quite well.

What is it, you ask?

Well, we can share items with one another (as long as someone covers the shipping) for free and return them once we've used them for whatever event it is we need them for, photoshoot, or whatever. This way, we breed friendship in the steampunk community and an open atmosphere also.

I know trust might be a problem, so perhaps we'd send ...

I've posted this at Etsy, but, would rather pass the business here.

Have no idea what this should cost. I'm not particular about the material. Heck...if this could be made out of flannel or khaki and dyed brown, I wouldn't care...as long as it's heavy enough material, to be considered a coat/jacket.

Thanks for looking,

I posted this on BG before it went kaput, so re-posting!

I have a gorgeous frock style coat/long jacket for sale or swap.

The coat is roughly just above knee length, and has a gorgeous multi tonal purple satin lining. It fastens with a silver fob chain and has a long split at the back.

It's a size 14 UK, or will fit a 36 inch chest. Although the sizing is female it could be worn by ladies or gentleman, it's not particularly fitted.

Really gorgeous coat,no rips or tears to the lining ...
