Hmmm... "Table './proteus_wrdp1/smf_sessions' is marked as crashed and should be repaired", you say?

Drat it all! Quite obviously, the Wind-Resistant Dirigible Project's prototype, the WRDP-1 'Proteus', under the temporary command of Sergeant Major (Flight) Anthony Sessions, has suffered a mischief! Quite obviously, getting 'Proteus' once again ship-shape and in Bristol fashion has taken precedence - returning her to airworthiness is an all-hands effort, quite clearly leaving no spare hands to stoke the Brass Goggles boilers!

*Sigh* - I knew from the start that SM(F) Sessions was the wrong man for the job, but would anybody listen to me...?

crash!

Post  Sgt.MajorThistlewaite on Thu Jul 16, 2009 3:53 pm

I had a premonition of this a couple of days ago when Proteus stated emphatically that Brass Goggles would not crash again. Heh. One should be mindful about making hard and fast proclamations..they have a proclivity for returning to masticate one's hinder parts.

"Tempting fate..."

Yes, well, it was scheduled, after all. Just before the latest convocation of the UCSDL, there was a crash - that waited until the morning of, as I recall.

Ah, well. I have tea (PG Tips, "an important source of fluids!") and Jaffa Cakes (Pim's - soft biscuits with orange filling), and I am set.

Cheers!

Chas.

I can fix that

T.E. Gunn finishes the whiskey, and idly plays his eyes up and down the curvaceous form of Mrs Cross as she leans back against the bar. He's just about to signal Clark, when a bright flash illuminates the window of the Salon. Going outside, he looks up into the sky, then returns and says "I'll be danged...Mars just exploded! Hey, Clark, freshen this up, wouldja?"
Unaccountably, Tommy is overtaken with the feeling that he and Mrs. Cross have a wealth of shared experience that he can't quite fathom, but, acting on impulse, he pulls her close, holds her tight and kisses her deeply. They live happily ever after.
The End.

Well, if this ain't an "alternate Universe" I don't know what is... Very Happy

Just kidding, of course...I'm looking forward to getting back to the "real story" too.
Hope they get BG fixed soon.
Cheers!
